Witch Doctor

Holy sweet mother! I cannot believe how smart some people are. Training and working at Alchemy Crossfit I get to meet a tonn of awesome people! Two that really stand out are Dan Petz and Aras Kvedaras.

Aras is a chiropractor and active release therapist, and Dan is a massage and active release therapist. These guys are GENIUS’S. Kvedaras Chiropractic is truly the place to go if you’re serious about your body.

They both workout hard, and understand the demands most athletes put on their bodies. Not like most doctors and massage therapists that sit on their asses, with the closest thing to a workout being the biceps curls of their diet coke.

I went to see Dan, not becuase of an injury, but because he was curious if he could figure out a problem he saw in me that he regularly sees in fighters.

My shoulders roll forward, and my posture is horendous. Dan figured he knew the culprit and wanted to have at it. Turns out it was actually a rather simple fix – simple yet would have gone unseen by any of these other so called “experts”.

My lats were basically non-functioning. Everything else was picking up the slack, he was actually impressed I could even do a pull up. Which also explains why my back rounds during deadlifts even when the weight isn’t overly heavy.

A loose joint somewhere around my collarbone also causes some problems. Pressing against that joint gave me all my strength back. It was hilarious to see how he could move my arm with 1 finger, then while pressing on that loose joint he couldn’t budge it with all his weight.

Then it gets even freakier. He busts open a magnesium capsule and pours some into my hand. Has me lick it, and tests me again. My lats are working…

I was damn confused. Apparently magnesium is needed to absord calcium. Without it the calcium ends up building up and gives a similar result as having adhesions and scar tissue throughout the muscle.

With the little bit of magnesium my mouth, my body thinks it has enough and I get my strength back for a few minutes. So all I have to do is start supplementing with magnesium and my dead lats are back! I’m pumped! This means my deadlift, pull ups, and even bench should go up HUGE in the next few weeks.

No matter your level, whether you’re a professional athlete, or a stay at home parent, there’s no reason not to be functioning at your highest level. These guys will fix you up the fastest and most efficient way. They’re not your weekly appointment kind of people. They find the problem, fix it, clean up the mess that problem caused, and then teach you how to rehab and prehab.

LOOK THEM UP!
